Research Abstract

研究期間内に複数回の海底熱水鉱床探査航海を実施し、まだ未確立の部分の多い海底熱水鉱床の探査手法の確立を目指し、同時に海底熱水鉱床の形成機構に関する研究を実施。海底熱水鉱床が形成される中央海嶺系(実験海域:インド洋)、島弧火山系(伊豆小笠原火山弧)の比較研究により研究を実施する。探査航海に使用する装置としては、有人潜水調査船「しんかい6500」、ROV(Remote Operated Vehicle : 有索無人潜水艇)、海水化学現場分析装置を搭載した採水システム、潜水船等搭載型深海磁力計を使用し、深海探査を実施する。本研究期間中に、中央海嶺および島弧火山系のそれぞれにおいて新たな熱水鉱床を複数発見することを目指す。探査手法として(X)磁気探査手法と(Y)化学探査手法についての開発を行う。
