Research Abstract |
We established an experimental system that apply the mechanical stimulus to a single osteocyte and an osteoblast using an atomic force microscope and we examined mechanically induced site-dependent calcium responses.The different responses to extracellular stimuli among osteoblasts, osteoid osteocytes and mature osteocytes might be related to the differences in their mechanical properties and focal adhesions.
