Jigoro Kano's ideals for physical education have been conveyed and widely appraised in the West through judo and the Olympic movement. There are three reasons for this positive evaluation : 1. Kano's individual attributes (education/linguistic ability/character/activeness/leadership/continuation) ; 2. Position and influence in the International Olympic Committee ; 3. Comprehensive international network (judo/sportspeople/academics/politicians.)
