Research Abstract |
We identified risk factors for surgical failure of trabeculectomy, a major surgery for glaucoma patients. In open-glaucoma patients, previous cataract surgery is a significant risk factor for the surgical failure while previous cataract surgery and granulomatous uveitis-type are risk factors in uveitic glaucoma patients. An anti-VEGF drug, bevacizumab, reduces surgical complications, and improves the short-term surgical success of trabeculectomy.
