Research Abstract |
We have developed a rendering model for sub-surface scattering and a display method for super-realistic images beyond traditional low dynamic images (LDRIs). A simulation method for sub-surface scattering considering not only single but also second order scattering is constructed, and sub-surface scattering irradiance distributions are calculated altering an incident angle and scattering parameters of materials. Based on the investigation, the irradiance distributions are accurately interpolated and are displayed realistically using a high dynamic range image (HDRI).
