Research Abstract |
It has been considered that the center of the Islamic world is the Arab or Middle East countries and the religious discourse in public space is exclusive to the Ulama. This study clarifies the structural changes of Muslim community brought about by globalization, focusing on the growing power of' lay' Muslims who are familiar with western culture and highly adaptable to globalization.
