Research Abstract |
There were many clans from places across the country not just located in Kyushu that participated in the Shimabara Rebellion. Most of the clans that participated in the rebellion went to Shimabara as"messengers". They fought in battles and some of them died. It should be noted that this rebellion was not a mere"revolt", but rather a"rebellion"on a nationwide scale. Both pieces of work and documents that were created by participants in the rebellion had the characteristics of being travelogues. These works should be studied further in the future. There are documents related to the Shimabara Rebellion in locations across the country. These documents should be investigated in future research.
