Research Abstract |
I clarified the works of the last years of Paul Valery in studying especially "Corona" and "Coronilla", two collections of poems dedicated to Jean Voilier and more than 600 letters written to her. I studied also his drama "Mon Faust" with its manuscript and clarified the importance of the 4^<th> act of "Lust". Those studies made me possible to emphasize the close relation between the writing and the eroticism. On the other hand, I translated "Corona/Coronilla"(Misuzu shobo) and "Mon Faust"(Chikuma shobo) in Japanese. These translations will help Japanese readers find Paul Valery's works in a new light.
