Research Abstract

This cross-national research examines the effect of voter political ideology on party politics and political behavior. Party politics is not constrained by voter ideological identification in Asian countries but in European countries and Japan. Attitudes toward the role of government and authority form not so much non-Western voter ideological identification as western voter ideological identification. Therefore, ideological dimension is rooted in Western political culture.
