Research Abstract |
This study articulated and proposed guidelines on how to evaluate corporate activities for biodiversity conservation, through a survey of major industries' current CSR activities. It also discussed a feasibility for Japan to introduce biodiversity no-net-loss policy and biodiversity banking scheme, based on a survey on the current related laws of foreign countries which have adopted those policy and scheme. Further, the study found that Japanese companies' CSR procurement policies are far behind from those of European and American counterparts, and concluded it is urgent to conduct research on how to improve supply chain sustainabiliy of Japanese companies
