Research Abstract |
The relationships between autobiographical memory, semantic memory, and episodic memory were studied. Stability of remembering was examned and it was found that as the participants got older only stability of autobiographical memory increased ; these results suggested that autobiographical memory is a separate meory system which is differentiated from both semantic and episodic memory systems. Researches with young and elder people suggested that one important feature of autobiographical memory is meaning-making process which connects past events and present self. In addition, Japanese version of Zimbardo Time Pserpective Inventory was developed to examine relationships between self, memory, and time perspective.
