Research Abstract |
There has been growing interest and discussion on the international cooperation in education in recent years. The first undertakings in the international cooperation in education in Japan, however, dates back to 1954. We have undergone considerable historical experience. During this half-century, arguments and policies on this topic have sometimes fluctuated. This study reviewed the history of international cooperation in education in Japan and traced the shifting ideas and policies in this field.
