Research Abstract |
Recent observations of Type Ia supernovae suggest that some of the progenitor white dwarfs had masses up to 2. 4-2. 8 solar masses highly exceeding the Chandrasekhar mass limit. We have constructed a new single degenerate model for Type Ia supernova progenitors, in which the white dwarf mass reaches 2. 3-2. 7 solar masses.
