Research Abstract |
Trace element discrimination diagrams for clastic sediments have been re-evaluated using a large suite of comprehensive whole-rock analyses. Active continental margin (ACM) sediments are distinct from OIA and CIA as a result of their more felsic nature. However, ACM and silica-rich passive margin (PM) sediments show almost complete overlap in composition.
