Research Abstract |
A multi-step method for detecting proteins phosphorylated by ERK MAP kinase reveals many new ERK substrates, including three nucleoporins. Nup50 is phosphorylated in FG repeats by ERK in vitro and in vivo, suggesting a new mechanism by which MAP kinase signaling controls nuclear translocation of proteins.
