Research Abstract |
The present study showed that neurotrophic factors play important roles in axon guidance of sympathetic neurons to cardiomyocytes. The results suggest that appropriate use of neurotrophic factors enable autonomic innervations in transplanted cardiomyocytes. Thus, the technique may be an important step to engineer functional myocardium in myocardial regeneration therapy.
