Research Abstract |
We recently isolated PDIP1 as a transcriptional cofactor of PPARγ. To elucidate its physiological function, we generated PDIP1 knockout (KO) mice and analyzed their metabolic phenotypes. KO mice revealed resistance to high-fat diet induced obesity and hepatosteatosis due to reduced lipogenesis and enhanced fatty acid oxidation in the liver. PDIP1 might be a therapeutic target of metabolic syndrome.
