Research Abstract

In this grant program, we attempted to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of protein misfolding in keratin disorders. The transgenic mouse studies showed that mutated keratins cause neither collapse of keratins or apoptosis in cultured keratinocytes. These findings may be because of the DNA break of transgene in a certain point.
