Research Abstract

Anticoagulation is the usual treatment for prevention of thrombosis after percutaneous transluminal angioplasty. But excessive or spontaneous bleeding may be a side effect of anticoagulation. The present study examines whether local gene transfer suppress platelet aggregation and thrombus formation after adenovirus-mediated gene transfer to injured arterial wall. Conclusion ; the local gene transfer to injured arterial wall might prevent thrombosis.
