Research Abstract |
To clarify the biological effect of radiosurgery (single high-dose irradiation), we investigated morphological and physiological change of neurovascular endothelial cells. Irradiation induced activation of both protein kinese C (PKC) and vascular endotherial growth factor (VEGF), which resulted in impaired tight gap junction of endothelium and contributed to brain edema.
