Research Abstract |
We used gene array to assess gene expression in the mouse middle ear in the first 24h following exposure to Haemophilus influenzae. We observed 513 transcripts that were significantly up-regulated 3h after inoculation, while only 2 transcripts were down-regulated. At 6h, 658 up-regulated transcripts were noted, as compared to 188 down-regulated genes. By 24h after bacterial exposure, 1350 transcripts showed increased expression while 1632 exhibited reduced expression.
