Research Abstract

異なる分子を複数組み合わせた新しい分子結晶群「分子混晶」の創製とその生成メカニズム解明を目的とする。まず始めに基板表面上で異種分子を混合配列した「単層分子混晶」の創製とその生成メカニズムを高分解能観察で解き明かし、次にその単層分子混晶を積み重ねた三次元分子混晶の創製とその機能性発現へと発展させる。本年度は特にフッ素化フタロシアニンとペンタセンの組み合わせを集中的に検討した。その結果、フッ素化フタロシアニンとペンタセンの組み合わせでは特定の組成比のときに規則的配列をとることがわかり、分子混晶を形成しうることが見出された。さらには混晶だけでなく、特定比率では相分離を起こす場合や固溶体を形成する場合があることを見いだした。これらの現象は従来の固体材料で知られていた固相反応であり、有機分子でも同様の現象が起こりえることを初めて示すことが出来た。また単層を積み重ねた三次元分子混晶の作製を試みたところ、一層目と二層目が相互拡散して混晶層を形成することが観察された。この結果は第一層目には安定な混晶相とすることが必須であることを示している。この検討結果をもとに3:1相を第一層としたところ、その上にはペンタセン層とフタロシアニン層が安定して形成しうることを実証した。以上の結果から、成膜順序を適切に選択することで様々な三次元分子混晶が形成しうる指針を示すに至った。
