Research Abstract

銅鉱床の深部化、低品位化に伴い硫化銅鉱床にenargite(Cu_3AsS_4)やtennantite(Cu_12As_4S_13)のヒ素含有硫化鉱石の含有量が増し、その物理化学的特性がchalcopyrite(CuFeS_2)、chalcocite(Cu_2S)、covellite(CuS)等の硫化銅鉱石と類似しているため、従来の物理選別技術による相互分離が困難である。また、enargiteはchalcopyriteに比べ、酸化溶解速度が非常に遅いため(Sasaki et al., 2010)、enargiteを含む鉱石を銅鉱石として処理する場合、バイオリーチングは効果的な手法であると考えられる。筆者らはヒ素耐性Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidansによるenargiteのリーチング特性と固相残渣分析結果から、enargite表面には非晶質のferric arsenateが生成し、浸出したAsのスカベンジャーとして作用することで浸出液中のAs濃度が抑制されることを報告した。しかし、バイオリーチングによってもenargiteからのCu浸出速度は同一条件でのchalcopyriteのそれに遥かに及ばなかった。今年度は、好酸性好熱菌Acidianus brierleyiを用いたenargiteのバイオリーチングを行い、Cu浸出率の向上を図ると同時に、enargiteの高温下でのリーチング特性、鉱物表面化学状態の変遷の解明を目的とした。 A. brierlyiによるバイオリーチングによってenargiteからのCu浸出率は、無菌実験結果の約3倍、A. ferrooxidansの30倍以上の値を示した。しかし好熱菌を用いた場合にも35日目以降の浸出率は停滞した。これは溶液中のFe^<3+>が溶出したAs^<5+>と共に結晶性の良いscoroditeを形成し、析出することによって、enargiteの酸化剤が消費され尽くされたためであると考えられる。またAs濃度は35日目以降に急激に減少しているが、既に大部分のFe^<3+>が沈澱として消費されているため、scoroditeの析出ではなく二次鉱物への収着、もしくは他のヒ酸塩の形成によるAsの不動化機構が働いたと推測できる。ヒ素含有銅鉱石のバイオリーチングでは、Cuに優先的な非化学両論的溶出が起こること、ヒ素を含む特有の二次鉱物が生成すること、その結晶性や安定性は、リーチング温度によって異なることが明らかとなった。
