Research Abstract |
The findings of this study can be summarized as follows. In addition to an economic stability, constant communication between the government and the citizens is essential for a successful promotion of local welfare provision. This point cannot be too emphatic since the residential consensus plays the key role in revitalizing the communities with a penetration of welfare provision. In such relatively small municipalities as discussed in this study, there are a number of features that need to be taken into account for a sustainable promotion of local welfare services. These include, but are not limited to, perceptions of tax fairness, mutual trust between the government and the citizens, and relations among the residents of a locality.
