Research Abstract |
This research contributed to development of communicative testing of English of young learners (elementary school students) in Japan. It illuminated several challenges for communicative testing ; specifically achieving test reliability and practicality : and it highlighted some of the benefits; such as improved test validity and positive washback. It was also significant that the participants of this research were graduate students that want to be elementary school English teachers. This gave them the opportunity to participate in administering and rating an assessment procedure as well as designing rating scales.
