Research Abstract

近年、米国では成人学生の学士学位取得を促進するために、職業に直結した応用的・実践的な知識・技術の修得を目的とする「応用科学学士」と称される学位が普及しつつある。本研究では、米国の公立高等教育機関における「応用科学学士」の展開状況を整理するとともに、フロリダ州の事例をとりあげ、「応用科学学士」の普及が、リベラルアーツを重視する米国の伝統的な学士学位観のみならず、既存の高等教育システム自体の変容を迫る可能性を有する現象であることを明らかにした。
