Research Abstract |
I discussed basic aspects of stochastic gravitational wave background, such as, non-Gaussian nature of the backgrounds, and possibility of individually resolving gravitational wave signals in the pulsar timing band. The fisher matrix analyses are standard tool to evaluate the expected errors of parameter estimation, but I derive a new formulation using geometrical nature of maximum likelihood surfaces.
