Research Abstract

To reveal the Fbh1 (F-box DNA helicase) function in regulation of homologous recombination, we characterized Fbh1 biochemically. We showed that helicase activity of Fbh1 is required for dissociation of premature Rad51-filament. Our in vitro ubiquitination assay revealed that SCFFbh1 promotes ubiquitination of recombination protein Rad51, suggesting that ubiquitin ligase activity of Fbh1 could directly regulate homologous recombination.
