Research Abstract |
To reveal photo-activation mechanism of photoreceptor membrane proteins, we have developed photo-illumination system on solid-state NMR measurements. By means of this system, we could successfully observe the photo-isomerization of retinal as a chromophore in protein from ground state to excited state.
