Research Abstract |
In this study, we performed functional analyses of phospholipase Cδ3, an enzyme involved in phosphoinositide metabolism, and its binding protein Myosin VI, a motor protein involved in molecular transport. As a result, we revealed that these proteins are coexpressed in the inner hair cells in mice and colocalized on the plasma membrane in cultured cells. Furthermore, we found that phospholipase Cδ3 regulates several cellular processes which depends on Myosin VI function, such as endocytosis and microvilli formation.
