Research Abstract

Transcripts of genes related to carbohydrate metabolism were investigated in developing rice aleurone cells and starchy endosperm. The genes related to glycolysis and TCA cycle were preferentially expressed in aleurone cells, whereas those related to starch-biosynthesis were expressed in starchy endosperm.
