Research Abstract |
Glycerol-3-phosphate acyltmnsferase (GPAT) acts as a rate limiting enzyme in de novo lipid synthesis. GPAT is now a candidate for targeted treatment of the excess lipid accumulation that is associated with obesity and Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease. In the present study, I clarified mechanisms of enhanced GPAT gene expression induced by feeding or obesity using cultured cells and mice.
