Research Abstract |
In this study, we demonstrated for the first time that PAF induces histamine release from human lung mast cells but not human skin mast cells. PAF receptor on human peripheral blood-derived cultured mast cells coupled to pertussis toxin-sensitive Gi protein and activated PLC・2 and PLC・1 in response to PAF. These observations have important implications for our understanding of the mechanisms of acute allergic diseases, in particular asthma.
