Research Abstract

Anticoagulation is the usual treatment for deep vein thrombosis. But excessive or spontaneous bleeding may be a side effect of anticoagulation. The present study examines whether vWF-CP suppress platelet aggregation and thrombus formation after adenovirus-mediated gene transfer to venous wall. Conclusion; The local expression of vWF-CP in rat inferior vena cava might prevent venous thrombosis.
