Research Abstract

本研究の達成のための最重要課題である高感度ガンマ線広帯域観測は2008年度打ち上げられたガンマ線観測衛星Fermiを用いたガンマ線観測が必要不可欠である。本研究ではFermi衛星の打ち上げ前から現地の米国において観測準備を進め、打ち上げ後も初期運用に積極的に参加することで、Fermi衛星の解析手法を確立した。実際、確立した解析手法を用いることで、いくつかのガンマ線バーストの発見に研究代表者は大きく貢献した。
