Adolescents (11-14years) who received bone marrow transplant between the ages of 9 and 14 years and their parents were recruited from pediatric Hematology/Oncology outpatient department in a general hospital in Japan. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews about their cognition and feelings about self-care related to their disease and/or body condition. In addition, participant observations during medical check-ups were conducted. The data were analyzed using descriptive methods. The cognition and feelings of four adolescents were characterized by the three behaviors types-taking medication and receiving treatment, preventing excessive sun exposure and infection, and having knowledge of their disease and late effects as follows: 1. All adolescent understand necessity of go to check-ups and go every time. However, they don't think about continuing check-ups in the future. 4. Adolescent's cognition and feelings influenced by parent's encouragement. Parent don't want to their child know about late effects until 5 years from diagnosed. But they make their child to do their self-care concerned about disease.
