Research Abstract

We demonstrate that the AAV type 2/5 hybrid vector can carry short hairpin RNA, transduce mouse alveolar epithelium-derived LA-4 cells, and suppress Tgfβ1 expression. This study opens the possibility to suppress an arbitrary gene function in lung alveolar epithelium-derived cells, and help analyze the pathogenesis of pulmonary diseases.
