Research Abstract |
Thrombolysis therapy is essentially limited by the short therapeutic window and its potential side effects. The present study investigates whether thrombolysis alone or in combination with hypothermia has beneficial effects after experimental acute ischemic stroke. Hypothermia reduces leukocyte rolling and adhesion, and protects the blood brain barrier.
