Research Abstract

In this study, to characterize the relation between tooth loss and breathing disorder via the nasal route, we investigated the pharyngeal airway in edentulous subjects using MRI. When compared to with dentures, velo-pharyngeal airway cross section decreased without dentures. This finding suggests the occurrence of the breathing disorder via the nasal route originate in oral cavity.
