Research Abstract |
In order to grasp the habitation of Burkholderia gladioli pathovar cocovenenans in Japan, observations were carried out in agricultural environment. A few strains isolated from rice plant seeding produced Bongkrekic acid. When ether-extracted toxin was adoministrated orally to mice, the mice died subacutely and its stomachs were markedly-distended. The toxin may affect gastric motility.
