Outline of Research at the Start |
This research compares the CPF consumption of slum dwellers in the global south to investigate to what degree the use of CPF impacts on cooking skills, eating habits, and knowledge and meanings of food itself. At a macro level, how have large multinationals such as Nestle strategically penetrated Mexico and the Philippines? At a micro level what is the societal impact of CPF in cooking skills and eating habits in slums of two historically-related cities but with different current social, economic and political contexts?

Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In the final year, the applicant submitted, finalised and published a book as part of the outcome of his time at the Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS). He also has two research papers under review and three more that will be co-authored with the Dr Lopez.
