Outline of Research at the Start |
本研究では第二言語の習得を促進する方法を明らかにすることを目的とする。 第二言語の習得を困難にする要因間におこる相互作用に着目し、それが学習にどのように干渉するか、どの程度妨げるのかを解明し干渉を減衰させて学習能力を高める方法を調査する。 これまでの研究で顕著となっている2つの要因、「成熟における制約」と「母国語の干渉」を対象にその関係性と相互作用が学習を困難にする構造と程度を定量化し、第二言語習得の促進において重要な基礎知識を提供し、教育現場へ貢献する。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In this project, we investigated (1) which features of the learning environment cause interference during acquisition, (2) how they interfere and (3) to what extent they interfere, across age. In FY2022, to investigate (1), we ran a study at high schools. This study is complete and has been accepted to the Cognitive Science Society Conference, July 2023 (Barbir and Tsuji, 2023). To investigate (2), we ran two studies, one eye-tracking study in the laboratory (Barbir et al, 2022) and one online study with daycare staff (Crimon et al, 2022), and are running a collaborative extension of the study with participants in Paris. To investigate (3), we ran a bigdata study at the Miraikan Science Museum with participants aged 3-87 years old. This study is complete and we are now running analyses on the data.
