Outline of Research at the Start

The scale of impact of water reallocation on the agricultural and small scale agro-industrial livelihood is larger in peri-urban areas. This study will evaluate the impact of water reallocation on agricultural and small scale agro-industrial livelihood which can be implied in policy recommendations.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

As the project concluded within the fiscal year, the research efforts were focused on analyzing and processing data, writing papers, sharing results, and submitting reports. The second survey, which targeted agro-industry holders on a smaller scale, was conducted in previous fiscal year, and the collected data was thoroughly reviewed and refined. Data analysis was performed on both surveys, and the results were scrutinized and finalized. Furthermore, a comprehensive literature review was conducted to prepare the final report and manuscript. The manuscript was shared with collaborators, revised, and ultimately finalized for submission, while a report was prepared and sent to JSPS. The findings were also disseminated among the collaborators, and the remaining survey reports were collected from the research site to finalize all paperwork. A presentation on the research work was delivered on-site at Urawa Akenohoshi Girls' Senior High School in Saitama, while the final presentation took place at UNU, IAS on October 19th, 2022. Despite the fellowship being curtailed until August 2022 due to a new employment opportunity, the collaborative work in this fiscal year resulted in two scientific peer-reviewed articles being published in international journals.
