Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、原子核乾板(特殊な写真乾板)に記録されているストレンジクォーク二つが関与するダブルラムダハイパー核やグザイハイパー核を、進歩の著しい画像認識技術を取り入れた顕微鏡探査システムの構築により、これまでの数十倍も検出するとともに、検出事象の解析手法の高速化をも達成し、理論との協働により、バリオン間互作用の統一的な理解をとおして核力をクォークレベルから理解することを可能とするものである。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

過去の数十倍のダブルハイパー核を検出し、新たな知見を得るためには、生成・崩壊という特徴的な形状を高速に撮像して検出する顕微鏡駆動システムの構築と、生成核種を同定するための崩壊娘粒子の静止点までの自動追跡とその粒子同定が必要である。
乾板のスキャニング・反応の検出およびそれらの反応に付随する粒子飛跡の追跡の更なる高速化を目指して、新たにピエゾシステムを購入し、検出システムの増強を実施した。前年度に開発したエネルギー較正のための機械学習モデル(Mask R-CNN)を導入した自然放射性同位元素のアルファ崩壊事象の検出は、過去の数十例規模から数百例規模へと、10倍の統計で実施できるようになった。そのためアルファ線の飛程の人による計測に時間を要するので、やはり機械学習によるフォーカスの合う画素の検出による自動測定の開発を開始した。また機械学習モデルを適用したダブルハイパー核検出の試験のために実施している最も軽いハイパー核(ハイパートライトン)の検出も進んだ。さらに博士学位論のテーマとして、NAGARA事象やMINO事象を教材とする機械学習モデルの開発に取り掛かり、1例のダブルハイパー核が機械学習モデルを適用して初めて検出することに成功した。
理論面では、ααΞNの4体問題に基づくエネルギー準位から、ΞN相互作用のスピン、アイソスピンの強さの情報を得ることを理論的に指摘し、10Bターゲットで(K-,K+),(K-K0)反応で生成できることを提案した。また、平均場理論によって、14N―Ξ原子核のスペクトルについて理論的に解析を実施した。
さらに実験・理論の双方とも、Springer Natureのhandbookで各一章を担当し、最新の知見を提示することができた。

Reason

希少事象の検出、飛跡の測定などに機械学習モデルが有効であることを理解した。機械学習モデルを、最も軽いシングルハイパー核(ハイパートライトン)の崩壊事象の検出、アルファ崩壊の検出、アルファ線の飛程の測定、ダブルハイパー核の検出へ適用すべく開発を進めた。機械学習モデルの試験として適用したハイパートライトンの検出では、そのΛ粒子の束縛エネルギーの大きさがその崩壊寿命との齟齬が問題となっており、検出事象数の増加により大規模実験とほぼ同程度の精度で提示できる見通しが立ったことは非常に大きな成果である。また、本研究の目的である希少事象の高速で大規模な検出に向けて、高速化のためのピエゾ素子を配備した顕微鏡の増設を実施できた。さらにダブルハイパー核の大規模検出に向けて、機械学習の適用を開始し、実際に1例のダブルハイパー核を検出できたことは大きな成果である。
理論面での一連の計算は、HALポテンシャルを用いた計算である。しかしながら、p殻グザイハイパー核を計算しようとすると、odd-state相互作用が必要となる。この計算はHALポテンシャルには存在しないため、引き続き、HALQCDグループと相互作用の構築について議論を進めている。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

Λ粒子の束縛エネルギーを世界最高の精度で提示すべく、機械学習モデルを適用したハイパートライトンの検出をさらに推し進める。機械学習モデルの適用によるダブルハイパー核事象の検出を進める。これらの事象が提示する物理量はΛ粒子と重陽子、二個のΛ粒子と原子核、Λ粒子同士、およびΞ粒子と原子核の間の束縛エネルギーである。そのエネルギーを高精度に測定するためのアルファ崩壊事象からのアルファ線の飛程の測定であり、その測定のための人依存を少なくすべく、機械学習モデルの適用を進める。
格子QCDによるodd-state相互作用の構築について、現段階ではかなり難しいため、カイラル有効相互作用と絡めて、相互作用の構築を考えることにする。
