Outline of Research at the Start

持続可能なコンピューティングパワーと新機能の実現に向け、光を含めた物理過程の積極利用の重要性が高まっている。本研究は、ナノ光学や光カオスを用いた意思決定等の光情報処理に関する実績を基盤として、人工データ生成、順序構造の理解、遅延保証ネットワークという今後の人工知能(AI)の時代に必須の高次情報処理を、光の極限性能を生かして実現する革新的AIフォトニクスの創成にチャレンジする。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

情報技術の根底を支えてきたムーアの法則の終焉が認識され、持続可能なコンピューティングパワーと新機能の実現に向け、光を含めた物理過程の積極利用の重要性が高まっている。本研究は、研究代表者らが世界に先駆けて実現してきたナノ光学や光カオスを用いた意思決定等の光情報処理に関する実績を基盤として、今後の人工知能(AI)の時代に必須の高次情報処理を、光の極限性能を生かして実現する革新的AIフォトニクスを目指す。
本年度は、前年度までの成果を踏まえながら、高次機能の創成に注力した。(1)昨年度は光の軌道角運動量を利用した多選択肢の意思決定を報告したが、これらの問題はプレーヤ間の格差がない前提の上での問題であった。そこで本年度では新たにプレーヤ間の格差を考慮しながら、意思決定を行うシステムを考案した(Scientific Reports 2023)。更に新たなシステムとして局在化と線形的広がりを有する量子ウォークによる意思決定を考案し、ランダムウォークを超える意思決定性能を示した(Entropy 2023)。(2)フォトクロミック材料は光によって可逆的に色が変わるというメモリ機能が示されているが、2つのメモリ経路を生成すると近接場出力パターンに負の相関が生じる事がわかった。これはレーザカオス意思決定にも存在する性質であり、新たな意思決定材料として期待される(Communications Materials 2024)。(3)精密時刻同期と光の合成に関しては、近似計算による新たな数値表現を提案し、実験にて実証を行った(IEEE Access 2023)。
