| Outline of Research at the Start |
本研究では，種々のインセンティブ／誘因に対する人々の反応を解明すると共に，人々に適切なインセンティブを与えることにより，個人の目的と社会の目的を適切に調和させて持続可能な発展を可能とする社会制度の設計に関する「インセンティブ設計科学」と名付けた新しい文理融合型の学問領域を創出する．具体的には，中核となる人工知能／最適化技術に社会科学の知見を統合し，インセンティブ設計科学に関する理論構築，被験者実験による評価を行う．さらに，学校選択制，研修医マッチング，公共事業入札，周波数オークションなどの応用分野において，政策提言とソフトウェアライブラリの開発準備，webアプリケーションの提供を行う．

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this project, four research groups, i.e., two-sided matching, auction, AI/optimization, behavioral/experimental economics, conducted research in a close collaboration. Within the project period, we have published 40 papers, performed 45 presentations (including 13 invited talks). In particular, we conducted research on following topics: constrained two-sided matching, auctions on social networks, distributed constraint optimization, max satisfiablity problems against adversary, new group decision making procedure called majority judgment. For these topics, we have obtained various research results, which are published in top international conferences and international journals.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
特筆すべき点として，情報科学分野のみならず経済学分野からも国際的に高く評価されている制約付き両方向マッチングに関する研究成果が得られていることがある．学生と学校等の適切な組合せを求める両方向マッチングに関して，現実的な場面では社会的要請により様々な制約が課せられることが通例である．本研究では，非常に一般的な遺伝的と呼ばれる制約下において，学生の幸福度（社会的な効率性）と公平性の間にトレードオフが存在することを明らかにし，遺伝的制約下で効率性と公平性を可能なかぎり両立させる耐戦略的なマッチングメカニズムを開発した．これらの成果は，経済学分野および人工知能のトップジャーナルに採択されている．
