| Outline of Research at the Start |
北朝鮮の核武装宣言の結果、朝鮮半島のみならず北東アジアに地政学的不安定をもたらしているばかりではなく、関係諸国内の市民生活への影響も懸案されている。こうした状況に対応するため、教育分野においては従来の「平和教育」に加えて、核リスク緩和、さらには非核化を念頭においた「軍縮教育」を組み合わせ、相乗的な教育効果を高める理論的枠組みやプログラム方法・評価論、教材開発に基づく「平和・軍縮教育」の重要性が高まっている。国際基督教大学平和研究所（PRI）と長崎大学核兵器廃絶研究センター（RECNA）は、韓国・日本の青年向けの「平和・軍縮教育」を共同企画し、厳格なプログラム評価を実施する。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Given the goal of formulating, implementing, and evaluating peace education programs among Japanese and Korean university students, several methods of inquiry revealed some new findings: (1) conceptual and methodological issues in designing mutually agreeable programs across two cultures, (2) viable programs would be possible even with differences in historical perceptions and approaches, and (3) policy provisions were made on peace and disarmament education.

このプロジェクトの意義は、社会科学的な見地から、韓国と日本では言語や歴史認識の違いがあるにもかかわらず、二国間の平和教育プログラムを開発することが可能であったということである。
