Outline of Research at the Start

研究の目的は、発展途上国の幼児教育における教師主導型から「遊びを通した学び」への転換過程とその効果について、モンゴルとミャンマーでの複数年にわたる縦断研究から明らかにすることである。その背景には、先進国とは異なる文脈での「遊びを通した学び」の理解と実践、および途上国の子どもの多面的発達に対する効果を検証する研究蓄積の乏しさがある。具体的には、「遊びを通した学び」導入の経緯と目的は何か、「遊びを通した学び」への転換はどのような過程を経て進むのか、「遊びを通した学び」は子どもの発達促進にどのような効果をもたらすのかという問いの答えを探る。研究成果は日本政府による幼児教育の国際協力にも活かされる。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は途上国の幼児教育における教師主導から「遊びを通した学び」への転換過程とその効果について、モンゴルとミャンマーでの縦断研究から明らかにすることを目的としている。具体的な研究課題として、１．途上国における「遊びを通した学び」導入の経緯と目的は何か、２．途上国における「遊びを通した学び」への転換はどのような過程を経て進むのか、３．途上国における「遊びを通した学び」は幼児の発達促進にどのような効果をもたらすのか、という三つの研究設問の答えを探るものである。2022年度は政情不安のミャンマーに代わり、カンボジアを調査対象国に加え、上記の研究課題２と３に取り組む予定であった。実際、新型コロナウィルス感染に伴う渡航制限は2022年3月以降、徐々に緩和され、2022年度にようやく現地調査実施の展望が開けた。しかしながら、研究代表者は2022年5月より家庭の事情で勤務地を離れてテレワークを開始することとなり、同年10月以降は同様の理由で部分休業に入り、研究遂行が困難となった。そのような中でも、カンボジア人研究協力者の協力を得て、研究課題２に関する調査ツールの作成および現地調査を実施し、幼稚園教諭や保護者とのインタビューおよび保育観察のデータを収集した。現在、データの分析を進めており、2023年11月に学会発表を予定している。なお、2023年度の交付申請を辞退するとともに、2020年度交付の再繰越金と2021年度交付の繰越金、および2022年度交付の残金はすべて国庫へ返還した。
