| Outline of Research at the Start |
近年，教育熱心な親や教師による子どもの受忍限度を超える強制的な教育行為としてエデュケーショナル・マルトリートメント（Educational Maltreatment: EM）という概念が提起され，問題行動や精神疾患，自己肯定感の低さ，学びからの逃走といった大きな問題をもたらすことが指摘されている。本研究では，保護者に焦点を当て，現代日本社会におけるEMの危険因子及び保護因子の同定を通してEMの生起・維持メカニズムの解明を行うことを目的とする。心理学，社会学，教育学の研究者の協同により，アセスメントツールの開発・現象の統計モデル化，背景にある社会文化的特徴の明確化という多層的な問題に取り組む。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, In this study, we conducted a theoretical examination of the concept and qualitative analysis of cases regarding educational maltreatment by parents, and examined the differences from the conventional concept of maltreatment between educational maltreatmen, the conditions for determining maltreatment, We were also able to clarify the specific contents of educational maltreatment and the risk factors that cause and maintain educational maltreatment, as well as the factors that eliminate and improve it.While educational maltreatment is justified in the name of education, it actually deprives children of their independence, leading to a variety of problems such as refusing to attend school, bullying, violence, suicide, and running away from learning. It was shown that this is an extremely serious problem.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究は，これまで理論的検討に留まっていた保護者によるエデュケーショナル・マルトリートメントの生起・維持メカニズムについて世界で初めて実証的に明らかにした点で高い学術的価値を有している。本研究で整理されたエデュケーショナル・マルトリートメントのリスク要因には，行為者である保護者だけでなく，子ども，家族関係・家庭，周辺環境の特徴，教育システムや社会に共有される価値観という多層的な特徴があり，個人だけではなく，社会全体にアプローチしていくことがこの問題の理解と支援，予防に不可欠であることを示した点において高い学術的意義と社会的意義を有している。
