Outline of Research at the Start

近年、大質量星やコンパクト天体の連星系に関する観測的情報が飛躍的に増している。例えば、O型星の70%以上は伴星の影響を強く受ける近接連星系であることの発見や、連星パルサーの発見数の急速な増大、さらに重力波を用いた新たな連星パラメータ領域の走査などである。観測が進むにつれて、主系列段階での連星率と超新星残骸中のコンパクト天体の連星率に大きな隔たりがある問題が浮き彫りになった。
独立な大問題として、大質量星の死である超新星爆発やガンマ線バーストの爆発機構が未解明であることがある。
本研究計画は、近年の連星の知見を活かし、超新星爆発およびガンマ線バーストの爆発機構に迫るものである。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

近年、大質量星やコンパクト天体の連星系に関する観測データが大幅に増加している。この増加したデータを基に、本研究では超新星爆発やガンマ線バーストの発生機構を迫るることを目指している。その中で、当該年度に得られた主な研究成果は以下の通りである。
1. 星が一生の最期に起こす超新星爆発に伴い放出されるニュートリノや重力波など、マルチメッセンジャー観測に向け計算が進展した。特にニュートリノについては、データ解析のためのパイプラインコードを新たに開発し、これまでにない精度での定量解析を可能とした。また、重力波に関しては、長時間にわたる計算を基にした固有モードの解析を実施し、これまでにない時間スケールで適用できる周波数変調を記述する関数を開発した。
2. 連星システム内で発生する超新星の直接シミュレーション用のコードを開発し、爆発後に形成されるコンパクト天体への物質の降着量を定量的に評価することができるようになった。また、コンパクト天体への降着がどのようにしてX線を放射するかについての計算も進んだ。
3. 白色矮星連星が合体することにより引き起こされる重力崩壊のシミュレーションを実行している。このシミュレーションでは、系統的に天体の初期質量や中心密度を変化させることで、どのような条件で天体が重力崩壊を起こすかを明らかにしている。さらに、この崩壊が引き起こす超新星爆発のエネルギーやエジェクタ質量の評価も行った。

今後は、連星中における大質量星爆発の直接シミュレーションを系統的に実施し、連星進化に伴う爆発現象の包括的理解を目指した研究を進める。
